Yaroque Dance Theatre, founded by Shelby Green in 2024, makes contemporary dance with a flair for the dramatic, the ridiculous, and the deeply felt. Blending drag, clowning, mime, and rigorous concert dance technique, the company builds lush, off-kilter worlds where spectacle and sincerity share the spotlight. Yaroque’s work invites audiences to laugh, gasp, and maybe have a tiny existential crisis.

Founded in New York City in 2024, Yaroque has presented seven NYC premieres, debuted its first evening-length production at The Chain Theatre in March 2025, and shown work in New York, Ohio, Tel Aviv, and The Hague.
